Silicon Valley single serve coffee maker of award-winning teas Pooki’s Mahi announced today teas from its Red Carpet Collection has been featured in the TV series “Boys Before Friends” which airs on Viki.com.  “Boys Before Friends,” was formally known as “Between Boys and Friends” and is an American remake of the popular Japanese Manga “Hana Hori Dango.”

The best selling Japanese Manga has been made into three record breaking series around the world:  Boys Over Flowers (South Korea), Meteor Garden (Taiwan) and Hana Yori Dango (Japan).

“Kelly Kinney, CEO of WillKinn Media approached me in Fall 2013 about the Boys Before Friends film project. Some pop culture critics have drawn similarities between “Boys Before Friends” and the former TV series “Gossip Girl” or “The OC.” “Boys Before Friends” has romance, comedy and drama.  The adaptation of the Hana Yori Dango series incorporated areas unique to the American Pop Culture:  dancing, singing, comedy and romance.  To make the “Boys Before Friends” more accessible to American audiences, the storyline moves from a high school setting to a very exclusive graduate school and features are more multi-racial cast.  “Boys Before Friends” is executive produced by Willkinn Media and distributed on Viki.com. When a scholarship student is accepted to an elite graduate school program, she encounters a world run by good-looking, rich boys that she has never experienced before.  Zoey Taylor is a talented dancer from a middle-class family who receives a full scholarship to attend the exclusive Ellison University, a school catering to the rich and famous. There, she meets Liam Montgomery and his entourage of wealthy, good-looking friends, known as the F4, who rule the school by fear and coercion.  Despite her best efforts to steer clear of the F4, Zoey finds herself entangled with the bad boys in unexpected ways.  Can she survive her new school environment?
