The goal is to expand the tea product line by including common black teas that many customers purchase.
Inspired by customer feedback on taste, aroma, and pricing, the teas in the Black Tea Collection all feature unique and unexpected flavor combinations, rich aroma and remarkable after taste. Customers provided feedback to Pooki’s Mahi and a Customer Advisory Board for over a year before launching a pilot of the collection last year.
“I tried several black teas such as Classic Black, Biodynamic Darjeeling, Earl Grey, and Hawaiian Classic Black from Pooki’s Mahi during their pilot launch. All the teas arrived on time. The Earl Grey has a great bergamot flavor …The smell of this tea is rich and floral. Vanilla is a significant component of the flavor which makes it different from a standard Earl Grey tea,” smiled Kelly, an executive chef and repeat Pooki’s Mahi customer. She continues, “The Classic Black and Biodynamic Darjeling teas has caffeine so I feel it kick-in. It does not leave me feeling jittery like after I drink 100% Kona coffee. We tried 5 other classic black, Darjeeling and earl grey teas and this was the best by far! Already ordered more!”
The two new Black Teas are:
Biodynamic Darjeeling: The teas are hand picked from the last family-owned tea estates in Darjeeling, India and artisan processed to create a bright and brisk drink much lighter than other black teas because of its high altitude. This is a “champagne of teas” hand crafted with 2nd autumnal flush teas and with a fresh floral and apple-like character to create a slightly astringent finish.
Classic Black:The estate whole leaf Nilgiri tea has been hand picked and blended with smooth Yunnan golden buds to create a classic fusion.
Pooki’s Mahi’s suppliers improved the packaging for these teas. Teas now come in a handy reusable standup pouch that include brewing instructions for each specific tea and ingredient list. The new packaging utilizes icons to assist customers in identifying key information such as caffeine level, number of cups served and allergy warnings. Customers make informed buying decisions.
